Interesting point about finding the reasons in childhood, we do seem to find what we want where we look, don't we? But is it not is a fact of an indifferent nature that extremes persist because the trade off exchanged for reproductive security over millennia is worth a few monsters?
Paul the way you point that out is the ongoing debate of the century I believe! That’s a real mind twist there how you’ve put that! Am I correct in understanding you by saying that nature is indifferent and, rather than aiming for perfection, it often allows imperfections or extremes to persist because they serve a greater purpose in ensuring the survival and continuation of life?
Something like that ☺️, I like to say, “Nature plays all the numbers,” though the idea of playing, like allowing, implies intelligence where I haven’t felt there is any. 🙏
Hey Paul, I’ve been thinking long about this and reading much - Lao Tzu of course, the way he puts it I think could be where the intelligence of nature lies - simply in how everything works in harmony with each other: “nature plays all the numbers” that’s intelligence in itself - the water flows around the rocks in its path, seasons change without needing to be told.. animals kill and return back to earth for the cycle to repeat - etc etc - so in a way that’s the intelligence isn’t it?
☺️ In a way... it looks smart! If we share the same understanding of intelligence; intelligence requires intention for me, not just the laws of physics. It is so hard to use language that doesn't imply intention and choice, I fall foul of that all the time. 😉🙏 It certainly seems like there is intention, purpose, and meaning, when all I believe is there is potential.

Yeah I agree with you 100%!
I need to ponder more on this one. Wooooh 🤯🙏
